Dust off your boots, D.C.—the legendary Desert 5 Spot is making its way east. The much-buzzed-about nightlife and live music venue, with roots in Los Angeles and New York, is officially opening in Washington, D.C., at 400 Morse Street NE, in the heart of Union Market.
Rumors had circulated for months about what would fill the old Palette 22 space, and now it’s confirmed: Ten Five Hospitality is bringing their iconic Desert 5 Spot concept to the capital.
Desert 5 Spot is best described as a high-energy fusion of Joshua Tree-inspired hideouts, retro roadside motel vibes, and Americana cool. Known for its neon-lit country bar experience, the venue will offer:
-
Signature margaritas and specialty cocktails
-
LA-style tacos and canned beers
-
Live performances from emerging country artists
-
The Desert 5 House Band
-
Line dancing and two-stepping classes
-
Weekend DJs spinning country hits late into the night
Already a standout destination in L.A. and NYC, Desert 5 Spot invites D.C. residents to trade in their suits for cowboy boots and immerse themselves in a space designed for pure, boot-stomping fun.
While an official opening date hasn’t been announced, construction and branding are underway. Locals are encouraged to “stay tuned” as the District gets ready to saddle up for a new kind of nightlife.
